American Footballer Robbie Rogers Comes Out And Retires


American footballer Robbie Rogers stunned his fans and followers today by coming out gay. Rogers, who used to play for Leeds United, also announced that he is retiring from the sport at just 25 years old.

Rogers, a Southern California native who had played 18 games with the U.S. National team, made the announcement in a heartfelt blog entry.

19-year-old Canadian hockey player Scott Heggart opens up to Kevin Newman from the Canadian Television Network on his coming out and new-found activism.

Scott as a tenth-grader began a video project that made him a YouTube sensation. He had documented his coming out by posting a YouTube video every day for a year. The videos included his thoughts about being gay, being gay in sports and interviews with family members.

Watch - Jodie Foster Comes Out At Golden Globes 2013


On Sunday night at the Golden Globes ceremony, Jodie Foster finally came out of the closet. After accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement, Foster, 50, publicly acknowledged that she is gay.

After being introduced by Robert Downey Jr., Foster said, "While I’m here being all confessional, I just have the sudden urge to say something I’ve never been able to air in public. A declaration that I’m a little nervous about. Not quite as nervous as my publicist, huh, Jennifer? But uh, you know, I’m just going to put it out there. Loud and proud. I’m going to need your support. I am -- single!"

Union J's Jaymi Hensley Comes Out Gay - 'Every Boyband Needs A Gay One And I Am Union J's'


X Factor UK star Jaymi Hensley has revealed he is gay. The singer, who is a member of boyband Union J, is advised by mentor Louis Walsh while competing in the competition and said his mentor inspired him to come out.

Jaymi, 22, said “I spoke to Louis about this and he said, ‘Put it this way, both of my big boybands had a gay member in them.’ So he said it fits the formula quite well!

“Every boyband has got to have a gay one! And Louis just said, ‘Do it.’”

Boxer Orlando Cruz Wins First Fight Since Announcing He's Gay


Orlando Cruz has won his first fight since publicly declaring he is gay. The Puerto Rican boxer beat Jorge Pazos to retain his light featherweight title in a unanimous decision. The judges scored Cruz 118-110, 116-111, 118-110 , who celebrated the victory in front of a cheering crowd at the Kissimmee Civic Center outside of Orlando.

“I was living with my mom, and one evening I didn’t come home, and the next day she called from work and just said, ‘Is it a girl or a guy?’ I said, ‘It’s actually a guy,’ and she said, ‘Oh, cool, there’s pasta in the fridge.’ With my family, it was that easy.”

'It's National Coming Out Day Charlie Brown' On Kimmel
