Watch - Male Bonding Rugby Style

'Generation Xcess', a 2007 series by September Films for UK's ITV 2, looks at the lives of 20-somethings and how they entertain themselves on a 'typical' Saturday night.

In this clip, we follow the Sandbach rugby team as they celebrate their success in a series of local pubs. We find the Sandbach rugby team involved in a bit of male bonding which, after the equivalent of 240 pints of beer have been downed, involves stripping and more than a bit of "snogging and wanking" of other teammates. The more they down the alcohol, the more their inhibitions peel away. They may be playing it up a bit for the camera but there's no doubting the sincerity behind the kissing and fondling.

Watch The World's Worst Place To Be Gay?

Where could it be, the world’s worst place to be gay? Afghanistan? China? North Korea? Iran? It turns out to be Uganda, at least according to the Scott Mills. The gay Radio 1 DJ travels to Kampala to see what it's like to live in a society which persecutes LGBT people and meets those who are leading the hate campaign.

The BBC documentary 'The World’s Worst Place to Be Gay?' is compelling and sad with pinpoints of inspiration throughout. It’s amazing what LGBT activists in Uganda are willing to risk. On his way home, Mills says he’ll never take the luxury of openly being who he is without fear for granted again.

It isn’t an easy thing to watch. But you really should. There are four parts due to Youtube's upload limitation. Watch 'The World's Worst Place To Be Gay?' after the jump.

What the Band of Chefs at the World’s Best Restaurant Cook for Each Other

Danish photographer and filmmaker Simon Ladefoged captures a never-before-documented dimension of Noma, revealing what the chefs at the award-winning eatery cook for their own pre-service meal. Famed for artful Nordic dishes involving delicate, laborious work such as preening deep-fried moss and drying wafers of scallop, Copenhagen's gastronomic mecca re-energizes its chefs with the daily ritual of a boisterous communal staff lunch, held at 5pm before the evening’s guests start pouring in. Granted exclusive access to the Noma kitchens, Ladefoged produced an aesthetic portrait of the 37-strong team, culled from 22 countries, carefully preparing what founder René Redzepi calls their “family meal.”

Welcome to Gay China TV

Xiaogang Wei
It’s a depressing thought, but to a certain extent TV defines who we are as a society. Is the increase of gay characters on TV shows in the West a reflection of a more tolerance? Or is society more tolerant because of Glee, Modern Family, Queer as Folk and The L Word?

In China, like many countries, gay characters are banned from state administered TV, film and radio. For five years Beijing-based website Queer Comrades has been getting around the censors and broadcasting talk shows, news, documentaries and fiction on LGBT-related topics.

Queer Comrades first show was a talk show about fag hags featuring rock singer Helen Feng.

‘During that time it was really hard to find people who are gay and want to show their face in front of the camera,’ says founder Xiaogang Wei. ‘So we got our supportive straight girlfriends to go on camera and say “we love our gay friends”.’

Death squads hunt Iraq's gays and emos

A very sombering video on what the gay community has to face in Iraq after the US army left the country. Gays and emos are being hunted down by the death squad. And you think you can hide out at home, think twice. Honour killing of gays by their own family are being condone. The below video is produced by freelance photojournalist Andoni Lubaki. Please note that there is a disturbing image being shown around the 1 minute mark. It's a picture of a handsome youth that was found bludgeoned to death. It's not for the weak hearted.

A peek into Gay China

China is not a country where you expect to find a thriving gay scene. Only a decade ago homosexuality was officially classified as a 'mental illiness', but today the gay community in certain parts of China is thriving. Below video is CRI's (China Radio International) investigation into gay culture in China. It's a very interesting 4 minute plus video that unveils something we seldom hear about, that is being gay in China.
